Production and individual processing of cold-rolled profiles
Cold or roll forming of sheet metal is the most established production process for manufacturing profile sections. Strip steel in various qualities and designs is used as the starting material. The continuous forming process using lined-up roll forming tools does not require any additional heating and takes place at room temperature. The production process is therefore particularly energy-efficient and more environmentally friendly than other profile production processes. Due to the excellent recyclability of steel and the ideal material utilisation, it also contributes to a positive environmental balance.
Forming below the recrystallisation temperature also increases the strength of the steel profiles. Roll-formed profiles can be designed with particularly thin walls and thanks to their specific strength they form the basis for energy-saving lightweight design solutions for numerous elements of modern constructions. Modern roll forming technology enables complex profile cross-sections with numerous forming stages. All profile cross-sections can be manufactured in open or HF-welded design.
Further processing steps such as precise cutting to length, embossing, clinching or punching can be seamlessly integrated into the forming process. Furthermore, pre-punched or embossed strips with different hole patterns and grids can be used. Wickeder Profile also offers individual processing with precisely milled recesses or profile bends in line with customer requirements.
